Our Divas have been busy girls, all boasting stellar solo careers on the side!


Antoinette Halloran has recently been seen on ABC TV as a judge with a heart of gold on Operatunity Oz and as a regular panelist on the hit show Spicks and Specks.

She has released a cd with ABC Classics called Puccini Romance with tenor Rosario La Spina, no. 1 on the ABC chart with a bullet!

On the operatic stage, she has performed many lead roles with Opera Australia, including Rusalka, Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Mimi in La Boheme, and Stella in A Street Car Named Desire, as well as Adina in the Elixir of Love for Victorian Opera. Look out for her in upcoming performances as Madama Butterfly at the Sydney Opera House.

 

Dimity Shepherd starred opposite It Takes Two's David Hobson in the new opera version of Through the Looking Glass for Victorian Opera. She has continued to solidify her reputation as a fine interpreter of new works with stand out performances in the ChamberMade premiere productions of Crossing Live and The Children's Bach, while balancing this with roles in the more traditional repertoire such as the title role in Orphee for Victorian Opera and performances as Carmen around Australia.

 

Danielle Calder has just landed the coveted position of Young Artist for the Victorian Opera. Stepping in at the last moment for Opera Australia, Danielle stole the show as the gorgeous Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance with Anthony Warlow.  She recently sang Mimi for Melbourne Opera and Gianetta for Victorian Opera.

 

Vanessa West appeared as the coolest and most harmonically gifted girl at Oaks Day last year as she sang the National Anthem to a huge TV audience to open the proceedings.  Her acclaimed performances for Melbourne Opera and Co-opera include Fiordiligi, Donna Anna, Gilda, and the Countess.

 

Ali McGregor continues to challenge all notions of genre boundaries  as she  uses her gorgeous soprano  in everything from burlesque to  grand opera.  Soon to make her Sydney Theatre debut after another successful season in Edinburgh, this Spicks and Specks regular is another of our talented Divas.
